A large art quilt, composed of vintage linen from the old Youghal Carpet factory in East Cork, this is one of six collaborative pieces produced by artists Mary Palmer (quilting) and Anne Kiely (print).
Composed of a number of hand-dyed linen panels, individually screen-printed, then assembled for quilting. Inspired by and exploring rural surroundings, the imagery follows the pattern of the children's nursery rhyme 'One for Sorrow, Two for Joy'.
Other works from this collaborative series are in the permanent collections of the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland, Kilkenny, and the Crawford Art Gallery, Cork.
